VFW 2009-2010  Program winners for Post 3128

 

The 2009-2010 Voice of Democracy winners selected by VFW Post 3128 are:

First Place - Melissa K. Steele, a Senior at Collinsville High School

Second Place – Nathan H. Gilbert, a 9th grader at Sylvania High School

Third Place – Morgan Williams, a 9th grader at Sylvania High School

 

The 2009-2010 Patriot’s Pen winner selected by VFW Post 3128 is:

Matthew D. Steele, a 6th grader at Collinsville

 

The 2009-2010 Teacher Award winner selected by VFW Post 3128 is:  

Ms. Amanda Woodall of DeKalb County Special Services

 

The 2009-2010 Fireman of the Year Award winner selected by VFW Post 3128 is:  

Scott D. Westbrook of the Fort Payne Fire Department

 

The 2009-2010 Policeman of the Year Award winner selected by VFW Post 3128 is: 

Kody Oliver of the DeKalb County Sheriff’s Office

 

The 2009-2010 EMT of the Year Award winner selected by VFW Post 3128 is:

David Henderson Walker of the National Park Service

 

Winners will receive the following from VFW Post 3128:

First Place - $100

Second place - $75

Third pace - $50

 

Additionally, first place winners will go on to compete at district level.

Entries for both the VOD and PP programs must be received by VFW Post 3128 not later than midnight on
November 1, 2009
 
     This years themes for the programs are:
 
      VOD: "Does America Still Have Heroes?"
 
      PP: "When is the Right Time to Honor Our Military Heroes?"
